About me in general: I was born April 26th 1979 and was born-and-raised in Walnut Creek in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area of California, United States and while I was raised Catholic I never believed in the religion. At age 4 and 5 I remember I played some Atari 2600 but none of the games for it were very good but then at age 6 the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) came out and I started playing that instead and that did have some really good games for it and so videogames became the first sport I was into and the love of that sport continues on to this day and I still like some NES games. In the 5th grade I started taking karate at Karate School of the Tiger in Pleasant Hill, I took their martial arts weapons training summer camp which also covered other types of martial arts, and came close to being a black belt before leaving in the 9th grade part due to everything just feeling like a repetition of the same stuff that I already learned causing me to lose interest but I have continued to learn new stuff about martial arts on my own. I started playing paintball in the 10th grade and by the 11th grade I was on the world famous paintball team the San Francisco Hornets and played regularly at Paintball Jungle in American Canyon. In both high school and college I was very into the sport of target shooting (shooting at paper targets with airguns and firearms). While in high school I got the first job that I could get which was working for Sunrise Bistro and Catering in Walnut Creek doing catering and while half of my shift I was washing dishes so it was not my ideal job I was still grateful just to have a job and grateful that they would hire me even though I was just 16-years-old. While in high school I took driver’s ed and got my driver’s license. While in high school I also took U.S. Army JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps), I completed their basic training at U.S. Army base Camp Parks in Dublin, the highest rank I was was Lieutenant, and I graduated high school 6 months early at the age of 17 due to being so far ahead in my classes and was the highest ranking JROTC cadet at my school at the time of my graduation. I then went straight to college and completed .5 units over a full-load of college coursework with a 4.0 GPA at the same time that my class (class of ’97) was graduating from high school. For the first half of while I was in college I worked at Big 5 Sporting Goods in Walnut Creek.

My legal first name is “Nathan” and growing up I always went by “Nathan” but then in high school everyone started calling me “Nate” so I just started going by “Nate” and when people ask if I prefer “Nathan” or “Nate” I just say I prefer “Nate” so they’re not wondering what to call me like they would if I said “I don’t have a preference,” and I let them know that if they forget and call me Nathan then that’s also fine.

I’m 6’2” tall (six feet and a little over an inch and a half tall to be exact but that rounds up), weigh 250 pounds, I’m White (mostly English, German, and Irish), and have brown hair and green eyes. I have no tattoos, no piercings, no pets besides small fish, and I don’t smoke cigarettes. My favorite type of music is metal and 2nd favorite is alternative rock but I listen to all types of music as I listen to anything that speaks to me on some level. I collect videogames I know I’ll eventually play, movies I know I’ll eventually watch, and books I know I’ll eventually read.

I live in Portland, Oregon, United States.

The list of different stuff that I am at the top of the website was shortened for my social media to just the stuff that I most wanted people to know about me so that it would fit across all of the social media websites that I use.

Here is more information about the list of different stuff that I am:

As for being an entrepreneur: For the physical items I sell they consist mainly of survival gear and party supplies sold at SurvivalPartyStore.com but I also sell cabinets at MagicalCabinets.com and I sell digital copies of my first book that I self published and am planning on patenting some inventions of mine and then selling the rights to them to companies that build similar-sort of products and further down the road am planning to rent future properties that I own for extra income as well.

As for being an author: I have self-published 5 books and have more books that I am working on completing and to learn more about them go: here.

As for being an inventor: I’m in the process of patenting my inventions and while I can’t tell you what they are yet until they are patented I can say they vary from being for emergency preparedness, to environmentally friendly pest control, to magic, and more. After they are patented I plan to contact companies that make similar types of products to see if they would like to buy the rights to the patents and then make as many of them as they want royalty free.

As for being a residential designer: I am largely self-taught in this field and did a large-amount of research when I was writing the book Magical Residential Design.

As for being a cabinet designer: I am self-taught and take inspiration from cabinets other people have built because I closely analyze them trying to figure out what they did wrong and what they did right and then try to see what new innovations I can come up with. Cabinets with normal use will last a lifetime so they should be designed and built well.

As for being a cabinet maker: I have some formal training as I took woodshop in junior high and then after graduating from college for awhile worked in a woodshop that specialized in the manufacture of deck chairs and tables for the deck chairs mainly to learn more about woodworking for my then-future cabinet company (especially when it comes to sanding, priming, and painting (as the later 2 were not covered at all while I was in woodshop)) but am partly self-taught.

As for being a fishkeeper: I currently have a school of 9 neon tetras in a 10 gallon tank but in the past I have had an extended friends and family of fancy guppies and have also had other types of fish as well.

As for being a gardener: In recent years since I live in an apartment it has mainly been just aloe vera and tomatoes and now that my current apartment does not have a porch is just aloe vera.

As for being a coder (for web design and Half-Life scripts): A “coder” is the new abbreviated way to say “code writer” or “programmer” and I am self-taught and have built many websites from scratch including this one (as well as all of the other ones that I own) and have written almost all of the Half-Life scripts listed at BestGameCodes.com/PC.html in their entirety.

As for being a filmmaker: I have made some films and am planning to eventually make more. While I only took one film class in college, what I learned resonated with me and stuck with me more than most classes, and I also have learned about filmmaking on my own through watching lots of documentaries, watching lots of non-documentary films, watching extras on DVDs, reading, and thinking about ways to make films.

As for being a photographer: I take pictures mainly of flowers and cloud formations and products I sell.

As for being a drone pilot: My drone is a Hubsan X4 FPV Mini Quadcopter. In case you don’t know an FPV (First Person View) drone is a drone with a camera that sends live footage to the remote’s video screen so you can see what the drone sees in real time and for this model you can also record the footage to a memory card in the remote as well as use the remote to playback the footage.

As for being a musician: I play bass guitar and sing and have made some recordings but none are worthy of the internet quite yet but I am getting there and I also have some ideas for some songs beyond just bass guitar and singing.

As for being a DJ: I worked part time as 1 with a friend who was one for a living for the last half of while I was in college and have a good assortment of DJ gear and a working knowledge of how to use it and plan to eventually run my own small radio station that is also streamed onto the internet and while it will be free for people to listen to the music it will have commercials that I made for my various business ventures so in addition to providing the service of free great music it will try and generate sales.

As for being a prepper: I take an all-encompassing approach to emergency preparedness preparing for anything-and-everything so everything from small emergencies like the power going out at night for a few hours to large emergencies and have read a large number of books and seen a large number of documentaries on the subject and always have on hand a decent amount of extra food and water as well as other emergency preparedness supplies.

As for being a gamer: I’m an avid videogame player and collector. I have a large but carefully selected videogame collection most of the physical copies of which is organized and stored in a file cabinet and for ones that came with cases the cases are stored elsewhere. I’m into FPS (First-Person Shooter) games (with my #1 favorite being “Half-Life” (1998) for PC (Personal Computer) and favorite map for it being Crossfire and my #2 favorite being “Half-Life: Team Fortress Classic” (1999) also for PC (Personal Computer) and favorite map for it being Rock2 and with those also being my 1st and 2nd favorite games of any type (respectively)), GTA (Grand Theft Auto) games (with my #1 favorite being “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” (2004) and “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” (2004) for PS2 (PlayStation 2) being my #3 favorite game of any type), Street Fighter II like games, and other games that involve flying besides some of the GTA games and I’m into retro games as well as newer games. I also run the game code website BestGameCodes.com where I have articles for my 3 favorite games among others.

As for being a movie lover: I’m an avid movie watcher and collector. I have a large but carefully selected movie collection most of the physical copies of which is organized and stored in 3 DVD cabinets.

As for being a book lover: I’m an avid book reader and collector. I have a large but carefully selected book collection a little under half of the physical copies being organized, stored, and displayed on a large book case.

As for being a meme lover: I like looking at funny memes and sharing the best 1s I find and when I share 1 I come up with something that ads to the humor to say about it then load up all the extra space with relevant hashtags to about the max I can with X (formerly Twitter) where I’m limited to the least characters and I try to post 1 every 3 days with my Nate Lenahan profiles but sometimes post slower than that but never faster. Most I borrowed from other people but a small percentage I created myself and you are welcome to borrow any from my selection. You can see the complete selection of 1s I posted on my Pinterest, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn but the selection is incomplete on my Myspace as for awhile they disabled the posting of pictures and the selection is even more incomplete on my Instagram because they deleted my last Nate Lenahan profile for no reason I can see so I had to start over.

As for being a caffeine lover: I start my day every day with either Folgers Classic Roast instant coffee with fat free Nestlé Coffee Mate Original Creamer mixed with sugar free Nestlé Coffee Mate French Vanilla Creamer (and never add sugar as the creamers get it sweet tasting enough and it’s healthier that way) or a sugar free Tangerine/Mango/Strawberry/Guava Rockstar energy drink and that has 240mg of caffeine (and is not to be confused with a sugar free Mango/Guava Rockstar energy drink which is a type I liked a little better as it had a not-at-all tart taste to it but they discontinued that type and it had the same amount of caffeine).

As for being autistic: I’m high functioning but sometimes have trouble figuring out what to say to people in everyday sorts of conversations and have a speech impairment and social anxiety (and both of those things are common for those with autism). And speaking of autism, the 1 movie I have seen that both taught a lot about autism and made autism look cool is “The Accountant” (2016) which was a hit and is an action/thriller that stars Ben Affleck as an autistic mathematics savant that is also good at killing bad guys.

As for being an introvert: While I do like to do some socializing, a below average amount of socializing always will be the right amount for me, especially since I will always have various projects that I am working on.

As for being an insomniac: It takes me an average of 2 hours to fall asleep and I wake up and can’t fall back to sleep for an average of an additional 2 hours each sleep session and so I have to lie in bed for an average of 12 hours to get 8 hours of sleep which means I have an extreme case of chronic insomnia. On average I’m up for 13 hours then in bed for 12 so my sleeping schedule rotates an average of 1 hour later per day. So it works out that I can be starting my day at any hour, I can be getting up to start my day at 3 PM or 3 AM or any other hour. Because of this I always tell friends and family members “please call first before you come over and if I don’t pick up that means I’m sleeping or busy so if that happens still don’t come over and you can call any time 24/7 as I never forget to set my phone to silent mode when sleeping or busy.” Some of the stuff I found that helps me with sleep besides having my phone on silent mode and knowing that no one will stop by unannounced is: only having caffeine right after I get up to start my day, being dehydrated at bed time, not being hungry and bed time, getting enough exercise, having the bedroom dark, having the bedroom a comfortable temperature, having a small fan on for white noise, and having a pen and paper on a nightstand to write down anything I think of that I don’t want to worry about forgetting.

As for being dysgraphic: I have trouble with spelling and writing by hand is a very slow, tedious, and anxiety-filled experience for my writing to be legible but I am a fast typer and with typing there is spell-check so I am still a good author. I was not diagnosed with dysgraphia until towards the end of college after some of my professors noticed that in written exams even though I always used up 100% of the time I wrote less than most students (and by far less than all of the other students that also used up 100% of the time), misspelled words more than the other students, and while my handwriting was legible it was messier than the other students, and also the whole time I gripped by pen unusually tight and applied unusually strong pen pressure while firmly pressing down the forearm of my dominant hand while holding the paper down with my non-dominant hand. This disorder is poorly understood and often not caught in childhood. Autism is a common diagnosis to have with it. My best advice to someone that has dysgraphia is “give up on writing by hand as much as you possibly can because there is no sense in torturing yourself but don’t give up on writing, so learn to type and get a word processing program like Microsoft Word.”

As for being a philanthropist: I donate money to Wikipedia, wikiHow.com, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Autism Speaks and while I admit the amounts I have given are small, I’m just getting started and also am encouraging others to donate. I also run BestGameCodes.com at a financial loss, I pick up garbage at-and-near the different places I’ve lived, when I’ve been able to do so I have set up bug zappers, fly traps, and wasp traps as well as released praying mantises to use eco-friendly pest control to help keep the number of pests down to help the community, and recycle.
For Wikipedia I give them money and promote them because they help spread knowledge and do so for free. In addition to giving them money as donations I promote them on my websites with clickable links to them and also promote them by wearing a shirt of theirs I bought from them and they also got the profits of the sale of that shirt. You can see their website homepage for the English version it: here, you can read about how donating works for them: here, donate to them: here, go to their store with their merchandise: here, and buy the shirt I bought from them (which is the best currently on offer and is 1 of their top sellers so a lot of other people like that 1 too): here.
For wikiHow.com I give them money because they teach how to do helpful stuff and they are the most trusted how-to website on the internet (like they say). You can see their website homepage: here and you can donate to them: here.
For St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital I give them money because they help the children with the hardest to treat and most life threatening aliments and since they started operating in 1962 childhood cancer has gone from a survival rate of 20% to in part from their help to more than 80% and they are still trying to help make these odds even better for the children so they really have made progress and are continuing to try and make even more progress with saving children and are not just “helping the children be more comfortable while they die.” Families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food from them so they can focus on helping their child survive as best they can. You can see their website homepage: here and you can donate to them: here.
For Autism Speaks I give them money because they try to create a better understanding of what autism is to help inform people and help autistic people and their families. They are both a non-profit autism awareness organization and the largest autism research organization in the United States and while I used to not support them so much as they sought a cure for autism when the autism rights movement, neurodiversity advocates, and myself do not see autism as needing a cure as it can be a strength but in 2016 they dropped the word “cure” from their mission statement and so now I feel I can support them enough to donate money to them. Because how giving money to an organization works is you don’t have to support everything they ever said-or-did you just have to support what they are saying and doing today enough to feel that you like them enough to donate money to them. You can see their website homepage: here and you can donate to them: here.
For BestGameCodes.com I run it to help the global gaming community as videogames do more good than bad for the world. All of the articles there were written by me and are free to read (and with no need for a log in or debit card or credit card information).
For picking up garbage I do it to help the community in my adopted city of Portland and it isn’t entirely free for me as I bought a garbage grabber and also have to come up with the garbage bags.
For the eco-friendly pest control stuff the pests do bad things for people and the animals we care about like spread disease and do harm in other ways so they are much worse than just annoying so it really does a public service to try and keep their numbers down.
For recycling I do it mainly to help the environment even though recycling doesn’t help the environment as much as most people think it does mainly because it takes energy to turn the stuff into something else. I recycle just when it makes sense to so don’t throw my bottles and cans in the trash as it doesn’t take much time to separate them out from the trash and make sure that they get recycled. A time it maybe doesn’t make sense to recycle is washing out a soup can using up a bunch of the Earth’s resource of water as well as your resource of time to save the Earth’s resource of metal so I don’t ever wash out soup cans, I use them as spittoons for toothpaste and mouthwash (instead of using water to wash it down the sink) then throw them in the garbage.

As for being a UC Davis grad: I graduated from UC Davis in 2006 with a BA (Bachelor of Arts) degree in History. My #1 field of emphasis was American history, my #2 field of emphasis was the last half of European history, and my #3 field of emphasis was the first half of European history. I also Minored in Psychology and for my electives also took a bunch of art history classes among other classes and was in U.S. Army ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps), our unit was called Forged Gold Battalion, and the highest rank I was was a MSII cadet.

Contact:

Feel free to email me anytime 24/7 at: SurvivalPartyStore@gmail.com or call or text me anytime 24/7 at: (503) 983-8414. (I always set my cell phone to silent mode when I’m sleeping or busy but if I miss your email, call, or text I will get back to you as soon as I can.)

And if you know where I live please call or text to ask if it’s OK to come over 1st before coming over and if I don’t pick up or respond that means I’m sleeping or busy so please still don’t come over so only come over if I pick up or respond and say come over. And so while it’s always OK to call or text (even at 3 AM when most people are asleep) unless I say come by it’s never OK to come by not even if you already called or texted me 3 or more times without me picking up or responding, it’s 3 PM so since most people are awake you think I should be up at that time, if you aren’t usually in the area but are in the area now, if you have cookies, or any other reason. My number 1 reason for this policy of not letting anyone stop by unless I give the OK on the phone is I have an extreme case of chronic insomnia and so it takes me an average of 2 hours to fall asleep and I sometimes sleep during the day and lesser reasons are I value my privacy, a friend who is secretly a fake friend is more likely to do a break-in if they show and learn I’m not home, and a stalker is more likely to show up.

Thank you

-Nate Lenahan
